No-Fault Insurance State
New York has a No-Fault Law in place. This means that all drivers are required to carry personal injury protection or PIP. If there is an accident, this type of insurance helps drivers and passengers get their bills paid and back on their feet, regardless of who is technically considered to be at-fault.
It covers medical bills that stem as a result of the accident, a certain percentage of earnings that are lost, household expenses that have developed as a result of a covered accident, as well as death benefits.
