Preventing Home Burglary

According to the US Department of Justice, American homes become victims to burglary every 15 seconds; a typical homeowner suffers a loss of almost $2000 in stolen goods or property damage.

Because the national economy is getting worse, burglary is a common crime, according to Charles Sczuroski, a former police officer and who is now a senior trainer for the National Crime Prevention Council. If you have a high deductible on your homeowners’ insurance policy, you will have to pay out of pocket to replace your stuff. However, for a smaller investment, you can make your home less enticing to burglars.
