Businesswoman Sentenced after Setting Her Company on Fire

Patricia Groves, 58 years old, paid a restitution of around $2,000 to the Fire Marshal’s Office after she set her business on fire in order to collect insurance.

Wood County’s Common Pleas Judge, Alan Mayberry, sentenced Groves to forty-seven months of imprisonment. The fire which caused a stir to the neighborhood was investigated last December 20, 2011. It was only last June 2013 that she was sentenced for arson and fraud.
